This is about as clean as my sketchbook appears, at all times. I am notorious for having a lot of loose papers that stick out here and there. This works for me. While there is sketching and painting in my notebook, I also jot down little notes and reminders with some illustrations when an idea hits. I have always been intrigued by typography, it is evident in my book, as I am always sketching words, names and letters.
